About Bali
Bali packs several holidays into one island: jungle river valleys around Ubud, surf and sunset bars in Canggu and Seminyak, limestone clifftops at Uluwatu and calm family beaches in Nusa Dua.
Few places offer this much hotel for the money. Pool villas with staff, rice-terrace infinity pools and architect-designed boutiques cost what a standard room does in Europe, while the ultra-luxury tier (Bulgari, Mandapa, Four Seasons Sayan) competes with the best in Asia.
Traffic is slow, so choose one or two bases rather than day-tripping everywhere. Three nights in Ubud and three on the coast is the classic split; book private drivers through your hotel.
