1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using HotelCompare (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of HotelCompare after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. When we make changes we update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page; we have no accounts or mailing list through which to notify you individually.
2. Service Description
HotelCompare is an independent comparison site. For a curated list of around 200 hotels in ten destinations we show indicative prices from four third-party booking sites — Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia — highlight the lowest, and link to each hotel's listing on those sites. The prices we show are indicative figures that we refresh periodically; they are not live quotes, and the price for your dates and room is the one shown on the booking site.
HotelCompare is not a booking agent or a hotel itself. When you click through to a partner site to complete a reservation, the booking contract is between you and that partner — not HotelCompare. All payments, cancellations, modifications, and customer service for your booking are handled by the partner site.
Our links to booking sites are affiliate links. If you complete a booking after clicking one, the booking site may pay us a commission. This is our only source of revenue; it does not change the price you pay or which price we highlight as the cheapest.
Favourites and recently viewed hotels are stored only in your own browser. Clearing your browser data removes them and we cannot restore them. The newsletter sign-up form is currently a placeholder: submitting it does not create a subscription or store your address.
3. User Responsibilities
You agree to use HotelCompare only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You will not use the Service to:
- Scrape, harvest, or use automated means to collect data from the Service
- Attempt to bypass any security measures or access restricted areas
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Republish our hotel lists, prices or editorial content as your own, or present HotelCompare as endorsing you
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
4. Disclaimers
HotelCompare is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We refresh our indicative prices periodically and match each hotel to its listing on the partner sites, but we cannot guarantee the availability, current pricing, or quality of any hotel shown on our Service, and the price you see on a booking site may be higher or lower than the figure we show.
Prices, availability, and booking terms are ultimately determined by the partner booking sites and the individual hotels. If you encounter a discrepancy between what we show and what the partner site displays at the time of booking, the partner site's information takes precedence.
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site linked from HotelCompare.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HotelCompare and its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or bookings.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of HotelCompare shall not exceed the amount you paid us directly, which in most cases is zero since the Service is free to use.
If you have a dispute regarding a hotel booking, your first recourse is with the booking partner that processed your reservation.
