Four booking sites, one page per hotel, and a plain explanation of how we make money.
What this site does
The same hotel room is often priced differently on Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia. The differences are usually a few percent, sometimes much more, and they are easy to miss when you are switching between tabs with slightly different dates and room names. HotelCompare exists to make that check quick.
We maintain a curated list of around 200 hotels across ten destinations. For each one, we show an indicative price from each of the four booking sites, highlight the lowest, and link you directly to that hotel's page on each site so you can confirm the live price for your dates and book there. We do not take payments or hold reservations; the booking is between you and the site you choose.
Alongside the comparisons we publish destination guides and booking advice written from what we see in those comparisons: which areas suit which travelers, what a night realistically costs, and where the price gaps between sites tend to be real and where they are just fees shown at different stages.
Two small tools help you narrow a long list. Add up to three hotels to the compare tray and we lay them out side by side on one page, prices and amenities included. Tap the heart on any hotel to keep it in your saved hotels for later. Both lists are stored only in your browser, never on our servers, so they are private to you and will not follow you to another device.

Compare
See indicative prices from Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia side by side, with the lowest highlighted. Shortlist up to three hotels to compare them on one page, then check the live total for your dates on each site.
Book
Click through to the site you prefer. You book there, under its terms and cancellation policy, at its price.

Side-by-side, not one-sided
For every hotel we list, we show an indicative price from each of the four booking sites and link you to that exact hotel on each one. We do not weight the comparison toward any partner.
No extra cost to you
You pay the booking site's price, nothing more. When you book after clicking through from HotelCompare, the site pays us a commission out of its own margin.
Verified listings
Each hotel in our lists has been matched to its real page on each booking site before we link to it, so you land on the right property, not a search page.
Honest editorial
Our guides describe areas, prices and trade-offs as we see them in our comparisons. We do not invent statistics, and we say when a site is not the cheapest.
How we make money, and other fair questions
Affiliate commissions pay for this site. Here is exactly what that means.
Are the prices on HotelCompare live?
No. The prices on our hotel cards are indicative figures that we refresh periodically so you can see how the four sites tend to compare for that hotel. The live price for your dates is always on the booking site itself, which is why every card links straight to the hotel's page on each one.
Which booking sites do you compare?
Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia. Where we cannot verify that a hotel is listed on one of them, we leave that site off the card rather than guess.
How do you choose which hotels to list?
We curate around 200 hotels across ten destinations: the Maldives, Tokyo, Paris, Dubai, Bali, Santorini, New York, London, Bangkok and Rome. We look for consistently good guest reviews, a sensible range of price points in each city, and properties whose listings we can verify on the partner sites. Hotels cannot pay to be included.
How does HotelCompare make money?
Through affiliate commissions. When you click a price on our site, you go to the booking site through an affiliate link; if you complete a booking, that site pays us a small percentage. The price you pay is the same as if you had arrived directly. This is our only source of revenue.
Does the commission affect which site you show as cheapest?
No. The cheapest indicative price is highlighted purely on the numbers. Commission rates differ between partners, and we deliberately do not let that influence the order or the highlight.
Where are my saved hotels and compare list kept?
In your browser only. HotelCompare has no accounts, so the heart and compare buttons store hotel names in your browser's local storage and nothing is sent to us. The lists stay on the device and browser you used, and clearing your browsing data removes them.
What happens after I click through?
Your booking is made directly with the booking site, under its terms and cancellation policy. HotelCompare does not handle payments, reservations or changes. For anything about an existing booking, contact the site you booked with.
